The mission of Crossroads Rhode Island is to help the homeless and disconnected on their journey toward a better quality of life through the provision of essential life services, advocacy, and referral. Crossroads is the largest provider of comprehensive services to the homeless in Rhode Island. Originally founded as Travelers Aid in 1894, an agency to guide, protect, inform and advise travelers in distress, Crossroads has continuously evolved to meet the needs of those it serves.

Today, Crossroads provides services and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to thousands of homeless individuals and families each year. Through a network of services, including crisis intervention, housing options, vocational services, and access to medical and dental care, the agency assists people in transition to reestablish their connection to the community and to move forward toward rewarding and productive lives.

Mobile Loaves & Fishes, Inc. (MLF) is a social outreach ministry to the homeless and indigent working poor. Our mission is:

"Providing food, clothing and dignity to our brothers and sisters in need".

We accomplish this mission through the use of eleven catering trucks that currently go out on the streets of Austin and San Antonio,Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Nashville, Tennessee, every night of the week utilizing approximately 8,550 volunteers and one supply truck to feed the homeless where they live, in parks, under bridges or in abandoned buildings.

The River - United Methodist Communities

The River’s MLF catering truck is now in full operation serving the homeless on the streets of Woonsocket, Pawtucket and surrounding towns. If you would like to volunteer to serve on the truck on one of its weekly missions or donate funds to is operation, contact Nancy Either at: 401-474-0546

The River - United Methodist Communities is a multi-site church that serves the Blackstone Valley in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The River lives out a deep sense of mission to go into the world around us and help others experience the love of Jesus through practical expressions of love and mercy. The Matthew 25 Center of Hope is a lighthouse in the inner city of Woonsocket. Offering hope to the addicted, and promise to the poor. The volunteers at Matthew 25 help feed, clothe and love many that are marginalized by society. If Matthew 25 is the lighthouse, Mobile Loaves and Fishes are the rescue boats going out into the sea of despair that exists in our inner city. With catering trucks Mobile Loaves and Fishes serves Woonsocket, Pawtucket, Central Falls, and Providence RI. This establishes The River as a place where worship is not just an event on Sunday Morning, but a way of life that glorifies God.
